Fruits For Your Face

Fruits are recommended to be a part of your daily diet.

You have probably heard this a number of times,

‘A(n) [insert fruit here] a day keeps the doctor away.’

This is not just some quip. There’s truth to this — regular fruit eaters are generally healthier than people who are not.

Fruits — with all of their powerful antioxidants, vitamins, and other properties — are on the same league with vegetables when it comes to nutritional value.

And because of the established benefits, many think that it is a good idea to put fruits on their faces and get direct benefits to the skin. Most apply them topically, or mix with other natural ingredients found in the kitchen.

Applying fruits on your face is very easy, quick and quite effective. They make you feel fresh, pretty and young-looking.

The following fruits are best to use for your face. Take note on how to apply. Make sure that you avoid over-applying which might cause skin irritations.

  1. Acai Berries – for anti-aging and increase blood flow in the skin

Acai berries are available in the market in powder form.

To use as face mask, mix 1 tsp of acai berries powder with 1 tsp of greek yogurt. Apply on face for 10 minutes then wash off with warm water. Do it twice a week only to maintain the freshness of your face.

  1. Citrus – for oily skin and to treat acne

You can rub the fresh slice, the juice itself or the rinds on your face. Either way, is effective for your skin.  Just don’t leave the citrus on for more than 10-15 minutes.

Be aware that citrus fruits can cause lightening of the skin and do not expose yourself under the sun for a few hours after application.

  1. Grapes – to make your skin radiant

As a facial cleanser, simply cut cold grapes in half and apply the flesh all over your face and neck.  Then follow with a cool water rinse.

As a face mask, mash well 3-4 grapes then add 1 tsp yogurt. Mix well and add few drops of lime juice. Apply on face, leave on for 20 minutes and wash it off a regular water.

  1. Apples – for acne, oily skin

As face pack for, mix together a tsp of freshly grated apple, a tsp of curd and a tsp of lemon juice to make a thick consistency. Then apply on face and keep for 15 minutes.

Rinse your face with cool water after the time.

  1. Avocado – for skin cell regeneration and growth

A half-cup of avocado pulp mixed with 2 tbsp of cucumber juice to make a paste. Clean your face and apply mask all over face.

After 10 to 15  minutes, wash off the mask with lukewarm water and pat it dry.
