Rosemary Water for Hair

You have probably worked out by now that the health of your hair is not so much connected to which shampoo and conditioner you use but rather how you take care of it regularly with treatments. So what is the one ingredient we recommend for hair and scalp health?

Rosemary. We believe in it so much that we added the herb extract to our Lavender Hair Oil. Rosemary has been used for centuries to increase the health of your scalp and reduce scalp inflammation whilst also conditioning your hair strands and increasing shine. It has also traditionally been used to regrow hair and is particularly good for thinning hair and dandruff.

The best thing is that you only need two ingredients to make this DIY restorative hair treatment at home — fresh rosemary and fresh water.

Recipe for rosemary water hair rinse:
  1. Chop off as much rosemary as you want and put it in a saucepan with just enough water to cover.
  2. Simmer on low for a minimum of 30mins. The longer you simmer, the “stronger” the rosemary rinse will be, so we like to simmer for about 1 hour to make sure we get the most out of our rosemary.
  3. Strain the rosemary water through a sieve.
  4. Pour into scalp and hair strands and do not rinse out.

We use this treatment every couple of weeks and use our lavender and rosemary hair oil weekly overnight. This method is the best way to improve the health of your hair and scalp for the long term whilst making it look beautiful instantly.
